Exmouth Town v Willand Rovers
The action never stops for one moment in the Southern League Division One South as this Wednesday we travel to Exmouth Town in another crucial Devon Derby in the calendar at Southern Road with a 7:45 PM KO.
Rovers added another point to the board on Saturday as we welcomed Didcot Town to Silver Street and as Willand went down to 10 in the first half an hour, the visitors would find themselves a goal from a corner where they found a blind spot where George Burton couldn’t see and broke the deadlock. Going into the second half it was getting colder but the kindling was just getting put on the pitch as a rocket from Douglas Camilo helped seal a point as it ended 10 v 10 and a point a piece.
Exmouth’s most recent clash was a trip to Wiltshire to take on Westbury United where Town managed to seal a 1-0 win on the road with Tom Bath getting that all-important goal to help Kevin Hill’s men to all three.
These results set up a cold night on the Exe estuary where both sides will be looking to take the bragging rights of the Devon Derby with the hosts currently on a juxtaposing campaign to last season and with Rovers wanting to push back into the top 10.
One to look out for with the hosts is Tom Bath who has since leaving Tiverton Town last season become a fan favourite at Southern Road with his goal-scoring abilities second to none and a true South West non-league titan, he will certainly be a handful for the Rovers back line on a bitter night in East Devon.
