Amended Opening for 16 to 20 July

Official Statement by Willand Rovers FC:

We are aware of rumours circulating that WRFC has Covid-19 cases within the club.

This is not the case and as far as we are aware no member of the club or regular user of the club has returned a positive Covid-19 test in the past few days.

We are however aware of two people that attended the club over the weekend of 10 & 11 July that have been “pinged” by NHS Test & Trace as having been proximate to a person or persons that subsequently tested positive for Covid-19. We do not know whether these contacts were made at the club or elsewhere, remote from the club.

As a precautionary measure, and to minimise risk to our members and visitors, WRFC has decided not to open the clubhouse bar on Friday 16 & Saturday 17 July and to postpone our Bingo night, planned for 20 July, until Tuesday 3 August.

Our scheduled pre-season friendly match at Silver Street on Saturday afternoon had already been cancelled by our visitors as they have recently returned a number of positive test results within their club.

At all times WRFC deems the safety and best interests of people attending our premise to be of utmost importance when considering operation of the club. We trust you understand our position of caution in this instance and would apologise for any inconvenience that our restricted opening this weekend may cause.

Bingo Postponed until 3 August

Bingo Restart further postponed until Tuesday 3 August

Unfortunately, due to two people in the club being “pinged” by the NHS Test & Trace app this week, it has been regretfully decided that as a precautionary measure, and to minimise risk to our members and visitors, the Bingo session planned for 20 July has been postponed.

We now plan to hold our first post-lockdown Bingo on Tuesday 3 August.

Hope to see you all then.

Kitchen help needed!

The club is looking for some assistance in the kitchen.

The task involves serving at the hatchery, selling hot food and drink and providing players and officials with their post-match meal.

The hours involved will be Saturday afternoon and Wednesday evenings when there is a home fixture and there’s a guaranteed 19 shifts over an eight-month period.

The position(s) is paid, but if anyone is prepared to undertake the role as an unpaid volunteer, then the club would be  extremely grateful.

MyJobQuote Announces Tool Kit Competition Winner

The winner of the MyJobQuote tool kit competition has been announced with Tim Scheutz, a plumbing and heating contractor from Cambridge, taking home £250 worth of tools and equipment.

Tim’s tool kit included a DeWalt drill set, a Pro Dry Core Case and Holesaw set.

The tradesman was delighted by the news, saying of the win:

“It was the perfect surprise when I found out I’d won the MyJobQuote Tradesman competition. Winning the tool kits is one thing, but having recently joined the platform to take part, I’ve been blown away by the amount of job offers I’ve received.

He went on to discuss the results he’d seen from joining the online job quote platform, which he’d only recently signed up for, inspired by the competition;

“I’d say I’ve received around £40,000 in job offers in just 4 weeks. I would highly recommend the service to others.”

MyJobQuote had this to say on Tim’s surprise win, and his subsequent trade success;

‘The team would like to give a big congratulations to Tim for winning our recent competition, we’re ecstatic to hear he’s won so many jobs through our platform myjobquote.co.uk already.’

The company itself partnered with the Southern Football League to launch the competition in early March, with the aim of further supporting and representing local business across the Southern League area.

Since beginning as a small start-up in 2013, the MyJobQuote platform has continued to serve and connect over 30,000 tradespeople and 1 million homeowners nationwide.

The marketing company proudly promotes the power of small and local trade, and provides a free, secure, and valuable platform for both businessowners and clients.
