‘Early-bird’ season tickets – now available

Willand Rovers Football Club is pleased to announce details of Season Tickets for the 2026/27 Pitching In Southern League Division One South campaign.

Following another season of fantastic support from the Silver Street faithful, the club is committed to ensuring that supporters remain at the heart of everything we do. As part of that commitment, we are delighted to introduce an enhanced Season Ticket package for the 2026/27 season, designed to provide even greater value and a stronger connection between the club and its supporters.

In a new initiative for the upcoming campaign, all Season Ticket holders will automatically become Club Members and will receive an official Membership Card. This membership will provide access to a range of exclusive benefits throughout the season, including discounts at the club bar. We look forward to developing deeper relationships with our club members and rewarding those who continue to support the club both on and off the pitch.

The club is also delighted to confirm that Season Ticket prices have been frozen and will remain unchanged from the 2025/26 season, continuing our commitment to providing excellent value for supporters.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for your 2026/27 Season Ticket, simply email the club at willandroversfc@outlook.com and an application form will be sent to you. Alternatively, application forms can be collected from the club, downloaded from the Admission Costs page on the club website, or accessed via the Season Ticket Application Form link below.

SEASON TICKET APPLICATION FORM

Once completed, forms should be returned to the club together with the appropriate payment. Payment can be made by BACS, card, cash, or cheque. Upon receipt of your application and payment, you will be notified when your Season Ticket is ready for collection from the club.

Willand Rovers Football Club are delighted to confirm the club’s pre-season schedule ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with supporters set to get their first glimpse of Ben Watson’s exciting new-look squad at Silver Street.

Following an already busy summer of recruitment and re-signings, pre-season will provide supporters with a fantastic opportunity to see the next chapter of the Rovers begin to take shape as preparations get underway for the 2026/27 campaign.

With several key players already committing their futures to the club, alongside exciting new additions arriving at Silver Street, supporters will get an early glimpse of Ben Watson’s developing squad and the style, intensity, and ambition being built ahead of the new season.

Seedhouse returns to Silver Street 🧤

Goalkeeper Adam Seedhouse Evans is in between the sticks for Willand Rovers in the 2026/27 season.

Adam rejoins Rovers after a brief spell away in the second half of the season at National League South side Torquay United following his spell as a goalkeeping coach with the Gulls.

Adam’s keeping career started with Bovey Tracey where he got scouted by Plymouth Argyle as a 16 year old. Spells at Cullompton Rangers and Barnstaple Town led to Seedhouse making the switch across the Atlantic Highway to Bideford where he was a stalwart for the Robins.

After departing Bideford, Seedhouse headed closer to home with Buckland Athletic before taking a brief break from football to work on his media commitments. A return to semi pro with Rovers halfway through last season led to linking up with his boyhood club Torquay United where he helped develop the Gulls keepers over a period of time. the Non League Pickford is back.

Club media caught up with Ben Watson, as we welcomed another member of the 26/27 squad back to Silver Street, and this is what he had to say: “I’m extremely happy to secure Adam for the coming season. Adam was fantastic during his short spell last season and will add experience and quality in abundance.

Adam has a fantastic personality and is ambitious. He is hungry and that’s the kind of personal we want at Willand”

Ben MacIver-Redwood commits to Rovers ✍🏻

Striker Benjamin MacIver-Redwood becomes the third forward to commit to Willand Rovers Football Club for the 2026/27 season.

Ben rejoins Rovers after a fantastic second half of the season under Watto where he made a great impact with the team, contributing several goals in key moments and became a fans favourite for the Willand faithful.

Ben joined the club from Devon League side Topsham Town after a break from semi professional football. Coming through the ranks at Callington Town & Torquay United, Benny headed to Scotland to work on his degree. During his time at Stirling University, he would represent the university side in the Lowland League before heading onto Montrose in the SPFL League One.

On his return to England, he linked up with Topsham which resulted in a rich vein of goals for Macca. At the start of 2026, he was registered into the squad and made his debut for the side against Falmouth Town in the final 20 minutes.

Club media caught up with Ben Watson, as we welcomed another member of the 26/27 squad back to Silver Street, and this is what he had to say: “Benny has been great since his been at the club.
I’m excited to help bring the best out of Benny and I believe he’s gonna be a real threat in the southern league and be a fearful presence to all in his way”

A call to arms

You’ve heard of Leonidas and Odysseus, even if you don’t remember them. As the names indicate, both are  heroes from Greek mythology, belonging to a world older than we can comprehend, but not so distant that their stories have faded.

You’ll most likely know Leonidas I as Gerard Butler in the 2006 film 300, where he leads an army of Spartans to the Battle of Thermopylae to confront the Persian ruler Xerxes, and his army of 300,000. The Spartans didn’t march with false illusions. They knew the scale of what was coming—vastly superior numbers, overwhelming force, certain defeat. And yet they stood. Not because the odds were good, but because some lines, once drawn, have to be held. And so even in defeat, Leonidas and his men became something greater than the outcome. They became a symbol of resistance, of what it means to refuse to step aside.

Then there’s Odysseus in The Odyssey, Homer’s epic poem. No grand last stand, but a long, punishing journey. Years of setbacks, wrong turns, storms, losses. Every time he got close, something dragged him back again. But he kept going. That’s his story. Not a single moment of triumph, but a refusal to stop moving forward. However far he was pushed off course, he never gave up on getting home.

But it’s not the heroes that have allowed the fables to endure, it’s what those stories stand for. Perseverance when the road stretches far longer than expected. Defiance when the numbers are against you. And turning up when it would be easier not to.

Because when people show up, things change.

In football, we call it the ‘12th man.’

It’s a misnomer, but we forgive it, because it still says what it needs to, and it sounds right. The 12th man isn’t an individual; it can be a handful of fans behind the goal on a cold November night, or 50,000 inside Anfield for the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Barcelona in 2019. Three goals down. Written off. Finished before it even began. But not to the Liverpool fans in the stands. Not because it felt good to cheer, but because it was real. A true crowd doesn’t just watch, it shapes what happens. Noise becomes pressure. Pressure becomes mistakes. Belief becomes momentum. The victory didn’t start on the pitch. It started in the stands.

And beyond sport, the same truth holds.

The Fall of the Berlin Wall didn’t happen because one person decided it should. It happened because thousands showed up, then tens of thousands, then more. Pressure building, presence growing, until something that seemed permanent suddenly wasn’t.

That’s the truth running through all of this. From ancient battlefields to modern stadiums to divided cities.

Showing up matters.

On Saturday, Willand face an uphill battle. Even if we exalt in victory we might still feel the depths of defeat. Our fate is not only in our own favour, but with the gods, should you choose to belive.

We might face 300,000 like Xerxes’ army, and we’re not standing at Thermopylae. It won’t be myth, and it won’t be marble statues on a battlefield. It’ll be grass, mud and a scoreboard that doesn’t care for stories.

And when it starts, we don’t watch. We don’t wait. We don’t hope from a distance.

We show up. We bring friends. We believe.

And if we do that—properly, together—then whatever the odds say before kickoff won’t matter when the final whistle goes.
