1st home game of 2026

Match Preview
Willand Rovers v Portishead Town

Rovers will be hoping to start the new year at Home as well as they left the Street in 2025 as we welcome Portishead Town to The Stan Robinson on Saturday in the Southern Football League Division One South with a 3 pm KO.

Last time out, Willand travelled down to Cornwall to take on Falmouth Town where the pasties were flowing and so were the goals. Rovers battled hard but it was the hosts who looked to make their home a fortress once again as the F-Troop found three past Rovers to secure all three points.

Moving on, it’ll be an important weekend for Rovers with a promotion-chasing Portishead coming to town to challenge us. Kye Mountford’s men have had an incredible start to life in the Southern League and certainly have shocked a few with their performances. As they close in on trying to regain top spot, it’s Watto’s men who stand in the way and are looking to turn it around by 5 pm on Saturday.

Last time out for the visitors, they hosted Bashley where Jack Thorne’s second-half super-sub contributions led to another vital three points in the title race which they’ve been battling out with recently relegated Frome Town all season in a David and Goliath style race.

One to watch for the visitors would have to be Ethan Feltham who has been compared to by the North Somerset Times as better than Messi & Ronaldo for his goalscoring rate, he’s continuing the rich vein of form once again this season as he looks to take the Posset to the Southern Premier League.

Earlier this season, Rovers made the trip up to Bristol Road where the hosts took the lead with Feltham but Kempster pulled it back shortly after. However, the hosts doubled down and Rovers went down to 10 where the game ended 3-1 to Posset.

Calling all City fans who aren’t making the pilgrimage to the Etihad Stadium this weekend, Argyle fans without a game & Tivvy fans who aren’t making the journey to Chertsey, we are offering a discounted entry when you show your season ticket at the gate this weekend. Bring a mate and pack the gate!

It’s time to make Silver Street a fortress in 2026 and we can’t do it without the 12th man, get behind the lads this weekend and hopefully it’ll be a vital three on the board.
