Billy Tucker penalty opens the scoring midway through the first half. Willand kept a clean sheet with Mike Searle saving a second half penalty.
TUE 12th JULY. TAUNTON TOWN, HOME 7:45pm
Willand Rovers 0 – Taunton Town 2
Two second half Taunton goal gave the visitor victory. In a competitive outing both keepers Searle and Irish made a string of saves to keep parity at half time.
After an hour Matt Wright got the opener and 10 minutes later Jordan Rhodes finished from distance.
SAT 16TH JULY. NEWTOWN, HOME 1PM
Willand Rovers 5 v Newtown 0
Willand continued their preseason with a knapp performance against Newtown. Impressive Rovers took the lead after half an hour with a bullet header from new boy Frank Rosenwald. Newtown held out until half time.
In the second half Rosenwald got his second at the far post after Brett Worbey shot had been parried. Full back Joe Curtis stole forward and after neat interplay drilled into the far corner from the edge of the area to make it 3.
Bailey Jason-Ryan added a forth with a cool finish just inside the area and the final goal was scored by Jason Kennard who smashed the 5th scoring on the angle across the keeper.
Willand travel to Barnstaple on Saturday and then entertain non-league giants Truro City on Wednesday 27th 7.45pm Kick off.
