Willand Rovers v Bristol Manor Farm

The fixtures continue to come thick and fast for Willand as this Wednesday we are back at Silver Street for the visit of promotion pushing Bristol Manor Farm in a 7:30KO in the Southern League Premier Division One South.

Last time round for Rovers it was a trip to Wiltshire where Bemerton Heath Harlequins secured the three points on an autumnal afternoon where the hosts took the lead early on with a driven shot into the bottom right after several missed chances. In the second half, Willand would find an equaliser as Harvey Dorothy made a sprint for it to walk it past the host’s keeper and make it 1-1. However, the fun stopped quickly with a free kick awarded to the hosts and that being drilled from 25 yards out past Burton to secure three points to Bemerton.

Steele spoke to the media afterwards to give his rundown of the 90 minutes and stated that “in those key moments we needed to be strong and solid and not sloppy” signalling a bounce back for Wednesday’s game when we take on Bristol Manor Farm.

Our opponents on Wednesday have had a great start to the season with them scoring in abundance and already this season their average goals rack up to 3+ so it’s one thing their strong with this season it is an attacking threat.

The Farmy Army’s recent game was a 3-2 thriller at Melksham Town where the visitors secured a late winner to seal all three from another promotion chaser in the league with Louis Britton with that winning goal.

Manor Farm also have a former Rover on their books in Olly Sully who joined us in Late August on loan from Southern Premier side Taunton Town in which he turned out for us several times in that period where he continued his development in his career.

It’s vice versa as Captain Owen Howe has also turned out for Wednesday’s opponent a few seasons ago and cemented himself as a fan favourite with the Farmy Army in his time at The Creek.

Willand has had a lot of luck on Wednesday Nights at Silver Street so far this season, both Mousehole and Larkhall have suffered defeats as a result of that fixture slot so can Rovers make it 3 for 3 with the visit of high-flying Manor Farm?
