Willand bounce back after midweek defeat to convincingly beat Cinderford Town at Silver Street.
Rovers picked themselves off the floor after their defeat by AFC Totton last Wednesday to beat Cinderford Town 3-1.
Willand started brightly with the returning Jack Rice looking dangerous in midfield every time he was in possession of the ball: on 28 minutes his threat was rewarded when he broke into the visitor’s penalty area, squared the ball to Tom Bath who drove the ball past the Cindy’s keeper Jones. 1-0.
Just four minutes later it was 1-1. Cinderford made a quick break down the right, the ball found Jack Freeman in space; he surged into the area before shooting beyond the despairing dive of George Burton in the Rovers goal.
Straight from the restart Willand went up the other end to restore their lead; some excellent work by Kieran Bailey in midfield and a pin-point pass to Ben Griffith who calmly slots the ball home. 2-1.
On 39 minutes Tom Bath broke through; one on one with the keeper and shoots only to see it saved by the keeper. Perhaps a square ball to the unmarked Jack Rice would have been the better option.
The second half was a more one-sided affair; Cinderford seemed to tire in the heavy conditions and Rovers took total control of the match creating chance after chance.
It took until the 75th minute before Willand added to their score: some good inter-play between Bailey Kempster and Ben Griffith was conclude by Kempster firing a powerful shot past Jones in the Cindy goal. 3-1.
In the final 15 minutes it was one-way traffic, with Willand looking to add to their total. Glorious chances were missed by Bath, Griffith & Kempster.
Cinderford were just glad to hear the final whistle with no further goals conceded! Ft 3-1
