Willand Rovers FC Youth Team
Willand Rovers
2 Stoke Hill 1
SUPERB WIN FOR YOUTH TEAM
Daniel
Biss was the man of the match as Willand
Rovers became the first
team to inflict a defeat on Juventus League
under-14 2nd Division
leaders Stoke Hill, beating them 2-1.
The Exeter side arrived at the Stan Robinson
Stadium with a record of
seven wins and a draw from eight outings
but the home side were
quickest to settle and took a deserved lead
from Jack Bridgeman.
Stoke Hill equalised to take the sides in
at the break on level terms
and, in the second half the leaders took
command but could not break
down a resilient home defence in which Ryan
Mitchell and Callum Pink
were outstanding. As the visitors pressed
Rovers took advantage of a
rare break away and Bridgeman got on the
end of a superb passing move
to score what proved to be the winner.
Rovers
coach Colin Pink said: "The boys were
simply magnificent, every
one of them who pulled the Rovers shirt
on today gave their all and
they can be very proud of their collective
effort."
