Willand Rovers Reserves were knocked out of the East Devon Senior Cup at the semi-final stage, beaten 4-1 by Hatherleigh Town at Silver Street. The Rovers team played really well and held a 1-0 half-time lead. They were finally undone with 25 minutes remaining and went on to ship three more. However, two of the visitors goals were from penalties and one was a free-kick, set-piece with just one from open play. That is testament to a terrific battling show by Rovers that belied their lowly Fresha League top flight status.
