There is no I in team: As Rovers produce a great team performance to defeat Bitton 3-1 with Craig Veal and Dan Western notching their first goals for Rovers.
Jake Wannell started after his bug with Craig Veal and Dean Stamp replacing Russell Jee and Bradley Stamp in the three changes from Wednesday night. The game like most started with the usual probing and prodding of both sides getting the measure of each other seeing who will win the midfield battle.
After twenty minutes the game sprung into life with Dave Gibbins making a strong stop to keep the visitors going ahead. However, 5 minutes later Rovers took the lead when Dean Stamp set up Veal to smash home across the keeper. With a lead to protect the back four with Simon Hill back to his resilient best ably supported by his partner in crime James Clampin snubbed out any threat.
Into the second half and it was Bitton who started with a bang an equalised within a minute of the restart. But Rovers bounced back with man of the match Veal having a shot blocked on the line on 52 minutes and then volleying narrowly over from a Stamp set up 3 minutes later.
But all the good work did not go to waste with Scott Rogers getting to the by line crossing for Stamp to volley home right footed from 20 yards. Western was introduced for Alden on the hour mark. Rovers pushed and pressed but could not get that two goal cushion. On 75 minutes Gibbins again made a good save flying across his goal. But Rovers finished the match strong with Stamp setting up Western who beat the off side trap and drilled the ball past the on rushing keeper.
