Firstly Pitch News
We are pleased to announce that the new Grandstand was successfully delivered & installed on Friday 24 July. What a fantastic addition to our facilities!
it is looking in stunning condition! The lads are going to have a top notch pitch to play on when we get going again.
Much work has again been done this month by our merry band of volunteers: Andy B & Tacker have continued their hard work on the pitch; painting of the new fence between the Old Grandstand & the Standing Stand, to the pitch-side hand railings & to other fences (big thanks to John H, Dan H & Duffy); modifications to the pitch-side fence/netting to enable the grandstand delivery wagon to get into the ground (thanks to Graham M & Dumper); extensive redecorating to the inside of the club house (many thanks to Mitch, Simon D & Martin Jee); pressure washing to more external hard surfaces (thanks to Rob Buxton of Pressure Washers SW) and tireless weeding around the pitch & drive (thanks Richard B).
Looking Forward
With the relaxation of lockdown restrictions recently announced by Central Government we have been working extremely hard in the past few weeks with risk assessments, signage & the development of operating procedures so that we can safely welcome you back into the Club bar. To that end, we will be fully re-opening the club bar this Saturday, 1 August, at 2.00pm: everyone is welcome so try and support us if you can. There will be restrictions in place as defined in the Government guidelines: these include a one-way system through the club house, no standing at the bar and only seated consumption of alcohol inside.
Bingo
Bingo is likely to re-start in early-September: keep an eye on the website & social media for the exact date.
Football Training
At last football training has started for the team and the FA & Southern Football League have announced that the new league season will start on 19 September 2020. Before this we are likely to be in FA Cup action either on Wednesday 2 September or Saturday 12 September depending on the draw.

Finally, a mention for all our corporate sponsors. Without their backing the Club would not have progressed to the level at which we now are. We at WRFC are acutely aware that all businesses have had an extremely hard time over the past three months so I would urge everyone of you to support our sponsors by buying their goods and services whenever possible.
Our current sponsors can be found on our website on the “Sponsors” page: Please support our sponsors if you can, as your support of them will enable them to continue their support of WRFC.
Many thanks for your continuing help & support. Stay safe and well, and we hope to see you on Saturday afternoon.
