IMG_0003_1 (Large) (2) (Small)Rovers Under-16s, still basking in the wake of that superb clean sheet success over Wembdon are back in action this coming Sunday (April 19) when they are set to meet Minehead.

First though back to that Wembdon win. It’s a fact that only twice in four years of football have Wembdon failed to score in a Taunton and District League game and both times they have come against Rovers as we also beat them 3-0 in early September up at Bridgwater College. That’s a measure of just how well skipper Tom Badcott and his champion team have been playing this term.

And so to Sunday – we are certainly hoping that it’s a case of ‘third time lucky’ for Minehead have twice pulled out of then meeting here this season and have already been fined and docked three points for an 11.30am cry off on match day earlier this year.

We go ahead and plan for the game and the squad on duty is:

Harrison Burton, Tom Badcott (Capt), Dan Foweraker, Phil Andrew, Ryan Harder, Josh Mclean, Ollie Elsworthy, Sam Jones, Connor Pengelly, Owen Buxton, Levi Edwardson, Bailey Jason-Ryan, Mitchell Dart and Jordan Biss.

Players please to meet at the club at 1.45pm for a 2.30pm kick-off.

With Staplegrove winning 4-0 at Bridgwater VPR at the same time we were beating Wembdon it means they have two to play – us and Wembdon (they meet Wembdon this Sunday) whilst we have three left. Two wins from three and the top honour stays at Silver Street –   come on lads!
