Rovers Reserves boss Rob Buxton spoke after his side’s 1-1 draw at home to TopshamTown in midweek: “another game and another positive result from my lads when again I could not have asked them to give me any more! This against a team have no doubt will be up there at the end of the season. We once again stood up and performed, bar the first 15minutes when we were well up against it and a defensive mistake allowed them in we dominated and felt a draw was the least result we deserved, if not all the points! We pushed for the equaliser and I started to think it was not our day especially when we lost Sam Williams to injury 5minutes to injury. We threw bodies forward late on with Blaine Fisher making it a 3-man strike force and that paid dividends. I felt we thoroughly deserved the equaliser after which we were the side looking the most likely to get the third goal of the game. I though the game was a great advert for the Fresha League Premier as both teams gave their all, but my lads this year have got a resilience and a never say die attitude that I have been keen to work into them. Things continue to go against us ‘off the pitch’ we have no recognised centre half and may go without such for most of season but Blaine and Gibbo have adapted to it superbly and are really epitomising the attitude we Have, Stuart Bolt and Den Booth again in midfield dominated there opposite numbers . We have champions St Martins on Saturday but sadly are without three players from this game. Chris White is still not fit yet so we have a wafer thin squad to work with! With players away we are in need of others covering but I am confident they will! I have little doubt that whatever happens on Saturday the lads will again have given us there all. They have a collective attitude, togetherness and passion like I have not seen in many years of working in the game. I am however on then look-out for a defender top add to the squad.”
