Taunton and District Youth League
County Sports Under-16 KO Cup
First Round

Bailey Jason-Ryan (4), Jones, Elsworthy, Buxton.

Bailey Jason-Ryan scored a 25-minute hat-trick as Rovers eased into the last eight of the Taunton and District Under-16 KO Cup with a 6-0 win at Division Two Rhode Lane Wanderers. Sam Jones scored the other of the four first half goals and there were two more after the break from Oliver Elsworthy and Owen Buxton. Rarely was Harrison Burton in the Rovers goal threatened, though that is not to say that the home side did not cause the back three of skipper Tom Badcott, Ryan Harder and Josh Mclean to work hard – for they did. The key to the win was the slick passing that Rovers produced on a good surface in Bridwgater. Mitchell Dart had a hand in all three of the Jason-Ryan treble and Philip Andrew, Oliver Elsworthy and Sam Jones also had ‘assists’ on the day. Phil Andrew had another productive day operating up and down the left flank whilst the midfield trio of Sam Jones, Connor Pengelly and Owen Buxton, continue to work superbly in tandem and it from these three that the team seems to be clicking so smoothly game in and game out. Bailey Jason-Ryan led the line well with support from first Mitchell Dart and the Ollie Elsworthy – the latter had started on the right of a midfield five. The other two players on duty deserve the HIGHEST praise, for Ryan Shrewsberry and Luke Horne were superb throughout.

A good day at the office with another slick team performance. Credit must got to the home side who gave a very good account of themselves.

One statistic most worthy of mention is that it is now 400 minutes and counting since this Rovers side last conceded a goal! Well done to Harrison Burton and the regular ‘new-look’ back three of Baddsie, Josh and Ryan H.
