Match Report

Evesham United V Willand Rovers

The start of the game was very even with no real chances until the 12th minute, Adam Kelly turned
well and played a one two with Douglas Camilo into the box, Adam Kelly shot but it was saved at the
near post. Good effort

Then in the 16th minute Evesham got a corner, the ball was crossed into the box and it went over
George Burtons head & William Owens for Evesham was there to header the ball home 1-0 to

Willand start to press more after the goal, there was a brilliant link up play in the 25th minute with
Ashleigh Hewitt, Josh Searle & Douglas Camilo, down the right side Douglas Camilo dropped his
shoulder to set himself up with a shot but it was wide of the right post another good passage of play
with no reward.

Then in the 38th minute Douglas Camilo was at it again with another shot from 20 yards out, but he
did not get his foot through the ball and Edward Brearey saved easily.

In the 40th minute Evesham had the ball in the back of the net from a free Kick but the linesman had
his flag up for offside, this was a real let off for Willand as it looked like it should have been a goal.

Just before half time Bailey Kempster went past Evesham’s left back and he then cut it back to Ben
Griffith who set himself up for a shot to the right top corner, but it flew over the bar.

We were hoping for more of the same in the second half but with a couple of gaols for us, Josh Searle played the ball down the right
wing to Oliver Bray who flicked it past the right back then sprinted past him with blistering speed he
made a low cross across the goal but the Evesham centre back was there to clear.

In the 57th minute Evesham doubled their lead. A mistake at the back from Willand saw Daniel
Griffiths go through one on one with George Burton, he shot to the left on George and he beats him

Willand made a double change on the 59th minute with Oliver Bray making way for Dan Koita and
Michael Lilley making way for Joe Wylie

Douglas Camilo was showing some of his Brazilian flair in the 68th minute he nutmegged the centre
back to set himself up with a shot but the ball went over the bar.

Willand made their second substitution of the game in the 73rd minute with Bailey Kempster making
way for Lewis Hill

In the 86th minute there was a stop in play when Douglas Camilo fell awkwardly following a

Willand finish the game with ten men as Douglas Camilo continued to get treatment. Luckily he
seemed to be ok.

Willand have had no luck away from home this season with the performances they produce not
rewarding them with wins, as so many of them should have.

We now go into a run of home games where our form is slightly better, so hopefully we can pick up a
good haul of points.
