Match Report

This was the first game of a jam packed January, we have 6 games to play of which four of them are away and this was the first away game to Exmouth Town.

Exmouth have been playing very well all season, having only coming up to our division this year and they have hardly left the top four all season, so this was going to be a test for us to make amistake. We go into the match on the back of a good win against Tavistock on Christmas Eve which gave us all a very Merry Christmas.

In the 3rd minute Jo Wylie slid the ball through to Dan Koita with the outside of his right but the Exmouth No.1 Robert Powell got there first.

Then in the 7th minute Dan Koita turned his man well and got pulled down. The free kick was struck well but hit the wall.

In the 11th minute Exmouth moved the ball well down the left side, the ball was cut back to their No.7 Aarron Denny who shot just wide.

Ollie Bray made a super run down the right in the 14th minute and played a long ball to Dan Koita on the far side. Dan Koita cut it back on his right and curled one towards the top right but it went over the bar.

In the 27th minute Josh Searle switched play to Adam Kelly who found Michael Lilley in the hole. Michael Lilley turned and shot from 25 yards, it was just wide.

A free kick is cleared by Exmouth in the 35th minute only for the clearance to find Lewis Hill who fired a thunderous strike from 25 yards. Which went in the left side netting, the keeper had no chance. Willand took the lead 0-1 .Get in.

Exmouth then got a free kick deep into injury time 45+4, the ball was deflected into our net and Exmouth equalised. 1-1

The start of the second half and Exmouth came out of the blocks running, they scored in the 47th minute 2-1

Willand made their first substitute of the game in the 56th minute,Dan Koita made way for Josh Baker

Willand then made their second substitute in the 59th minute,Michael Lilley made way for Douglas Camilo

We then made our third substitution of the game in the 65thminute, Lewis Hill made way for Sullivan McKenna

Exmouth extend their lead in the 70th minute, Exmouth’s No.2 Harry Walford was put through on the left hand side and he put it through George Burtons legs. 3-1

Willand responded straight away and in the 71st minute we got one back, Josh Baker turned his man and slotted it in the bottom left of the goal, 3-2 the game was on

Willand then pressed hard for the rest of the game and it looked like we were going to come away with nothing when a Exmouth player made a foul in their area and the referee awarded us with a penalty it was literally the must play of the game. Douglas Camilo went to the spot and as cool as you like slotted the penalty home, 3-3

This was a very entertaining game and the draw was the fairest outcome.
