Match Report
We hosted Wimborne Town FC for the first time in the clubs history.
We of course did not know what to expect but when they arrived with almost as many
officials as players and even their own stretcher we knew they were not going to be an easy
team to beat.
In the 5th minute Douglas Camilo put it around the corner to Josh Baker who tried to put
Lewis Hill in with the outside of his right foot, but Wimborne’s keeper Lloyd Thomas got there
first and spooned it out for a throw-in.
In the 7th minute Ryan Guppy folded Wimborne’s no.8 Harry Morgan in half and won the 50-
50, the ball found its way through to Josh Baker after a Will Richards flick. He tried to cross
to Lewis Hill but it was blocked. Should have been greedier and have gone for the shot.
In the 13th minute Douglas Camilo whipped a free-kick in low and hard. Lloyd Thomas does
well to hold on to it.
A deflected clearance in the 15th minute gave Will Richards a chance to shoot on target.
Lloyd Thomas made a good save and pushed it just out of Josh Bakers reach, which would
have been a tap-in
Wimborne’s No11 Aaron Roberts in the 22nd minute cut in from the right and ran nearly the
full length of the 18 yard box before shooting the ball towards the top corner lucky the ball
went over the bar.
Douglas Camilo bent a mouth watering cross into the box from a free kick. In the 30th minute The CB
for Wimborne got a head on it just as Kieran Bailey was about to nod home score still 0-0
In the 38th minute we saw some good link up play between Douglas Camilo and Bailey
Kempster. Douglas Camilo saw the goal and shot from 30 yard but it went wide.
We went into the break 0-0
Wimborne’s no.2 Ashley Wells looped a long cross from a free-kick, in the 48th minute the
wind got hold of the ball and it hit the bar and we managed to clear.
In the 52nd minute we finally break their defence down and Josh Baker drives a low shot
straight into the corner of the goal Willand 1 Wimborne 0
Wimborne’s no.15 Harry Baker looked to be in behind in the 64th minute but George Burton
was too quick off his line and he collected the ball safely.
In the 65th Willand made their first substitution Douglas Camilo made way for Jamie
Hearsey.
Wimborne no.9 Lewis Beale got in behind after blocking an Adam Poole clearance in the
69th minute. His touch was too heavy and George Burton was out again to jump on the ball.
Still 1-0 Willand
In the 71st Minute Willand made their second change of the game Lewis Hill made way for
Callum Chivers
In the 72nd minute Wimborne had a good move, the ball was moved out to no.7 Daniel
Bartlett on the right hand side but the cross was miss hit and it headed towards Cully Tesco.
A deflection saw no.15 Harry Baker get in behind in the 85th Minute. George Burton came
out to meet him about 25 yards out. Only one person was winning that 50-50. Great goal keeping.
Willand made their last change of the game in the 87th minute Josh Baker made way for Josh Searle
With one of the last moves of the game Wimborne break free and has a shot but George
Burton made a vital save again
Full Time Willand 1 Wimborne 0
Another good win for Willand who are now in third place in the league.
