Willand Rovers were on the road mid week again against Paulton Rovers.

This was our third away game of the season and so far all of them have been mid week games.

The first 10 minutes saw both teams gauging each other probing to see if they could spot any weakness.

On the 10th minute Willand had their first chance, Bailey Kempster did well to beat his man on the left and made a lovely long cross to the far stick, Jamie Hearsey couldn’t quite get his foot to it.

Willand Rovers won a free kick on 16th minute, it was 25 yards out, Will Richards shot to the top right but it was saved by Aaron Sainsbury

The 25th minute saw Paulton Rover have a free kick six yards from the corner flag, the ball was fired in low & Adam Poole cleared..

In the 28th minute Josh Searle pressed well and won the ball back, he made a nice pass to Lewis Hill down the right hand side who then crossed well but no one was in the box, so it went out for a goal kick.

The game settled down then for the rest of the half without anything more to note.

The second half got underway and both teams looked to make an early impact. In the 48th minute Kyle Tooze of Paulton Rovers got in behind Kieran Bailey but George Burton got to the ball first.

Willand Rovers won another free kick in the 51st minute. Will Richards whipped, the Paulton centre back headed to the edge of the 18 yard box to the oncoming Adam Kelly. He pulled the trigger but it went wide of the left post.

Willand Rovers made their first change of the evening on the 60th minute with Adam Kelly making way for Douglas Camilo who had only arrived back from Brazil the day before. It was a fast and furious start to the second half, with end to end stuff.

The 67th minute saw Douglas Camilo take a free kick from 25 yards but it was just wide of the right post. Aaron Sainsbury looked panicked as it was a great free kick.

Willand Rovers made their second substitution of the night on the 70th minute with Jamie Hearsey making way for Ryan Guppy

Josh Searle made a vital interception in the 75th minute to stop Ed Butcher of Paulton Rovers as he would have been one on one with George Burton.

Ryan Guppy forced an error from Paulton Rovers in the 81st minute which allowed Will Richards to cut in and hit one on his right foot, he connected with it beautifully but it was too close to Aaron Sainsbury who saved easily.

The 85th minute saw Ryan Guppy and Will Richards link up again, Will Richards strikes on his left this time, but Aaron Sainsbury tips it around the post.

Willand Rovers made their third and final substitution of the game in the 88th minute which saw Josh Baker make way for Callum Chivers.

In the 90th minute Willand Rovers had a corner which was played in by Douglas Camilo, it went straight across the face of goal but no one could connect to it.

It was a very good display from Willand Rovers and a very good point earned away.
