Match Report
Willand Vs Lymington
There was a late change to the Willand starting line-up which saw Searle miss the game though
sickness with Adam Kelly filling in at right back
The starting 11 also saw Camilo and Stamp regain their places.
Both teams started the game with attacking intent, with Lymington threatening first in the 4th
minute when the number 10 drove powerfully through the middle of the Willand defence before
seeing the ball rebound from a tackle and fall to his team mate who slotted the ball past the
post, and a relieved Burton.
Both teams continued to press forward with the Lymington 10 continuing to cause problems, but
it was Willand who opened the scoring in the 9th minute when a well hit corner from Richards
evaded the entire Lymington defence before finding Baker at the back post whose bullet header
gave the static keeper no chance.
Lymington continued with their attacking mindset despite the early setback and almost replied
immediately when the full back hit a sublime pass with the outside of his foot, sending his
forward clear, who cut in well only to see his shot blocked.
The end to end nature of the game continued with no clear cut chances for either side, but with
both teams playing exciting football before an injury to Freddie Bullard caused a stop in play.
Due to the nature of the injury, and with the players best interests in mind, the referee made the
difficult decision to abandon the game.
All at Willand would like to wish Freddie the best and hope he makes a full and and speedy
recovery.
