Rovers warmed up for Wednesday night’s big home FA Cup tie with Toolstation Western League outfit Bridport (7.30pm) by defeating Camelford 6-0 in a contest played out under the Silver Street floodlights.

There was just a single goal scored in a closely contested first half with Craig Veale sending Town into the break a goal to the good.

After the break Rovers took charge! Craig Duff doubled the lead with a clinically executed effort before Alfie Moulden provided the ‘assist’ for an Aiden Moyle goal.

Frank Rosenwald scored the fourth and Moulden added the fifth before Rosenwald struck again to complete the scoring.

Post match, Rovers boss Russell Jee said: “We have had a good pre-season and now look forward to the start of the competitive action.

“We have had Bridport watched and are under no illusions as the task facing us.

“That said, our players have had three-quarters of a Southern League season under their belt [last season was, of course, ended prematurely owing to the Coronavirus pandemic] and that experience last season ought to put us in good shape going into Wednesday night’s cup tie.”

Supporters attending the Bridport Cup tie are reminded that social distancing and ‘track-and-trace’ will be in operation and so fans are asked to allow plenty of time to get into the ground.
